Hi!! Elizabeth here to bring you another post on Project Life!! Today I’m going to share a little tip with you that that I plan to put to good use this year while doing my project life!! Now we all love to buy new goodies but a lot of time we don’t have the $$ to buy those new goodies so we need to “shop our stash”!!! Now I know of 2 different ways I can do this on my laptop with out going from kit to kit to kit to kit!!! First is the using the program I have to organize my scrap goodies ACDSee. To do this I (I am using ACDSee 14) go under the file menu VIEW —-> SEARCH and this nifty little box will pop up that you can enter some info into:

See right to the right of the screen? I typed int he word “CARD” and then chose the folder I wanted to search (KCB’s of course) then the start button and with in like 20 seconds I have like 40 cards to choose from. Now not all of them are going to be the right sizes since card is a pretty generic word, but you will find some that will work and some that might work with a little tweaking!!!

The second way I can find cards is using the search feature built right into Windows (I’m running windows 7, but I’m almost positive it works in Vista too…not sure about other versions).

Just navigate to the folder in which you keep your scrapping supplies and choose a folder to search first (again I chose KCB), so I opened up KCB’s folder and on the right hand side you will see a little box  with a magnifying glass that says “search “”insert folder name here::”. So you again can type in the word card (I also typed in journal) and in a short amount of time you will get all items that have the word you searched for in them!!

Again not all of them are going to be the perfect sizes, but you will find some that will work and some that might work with a little tweaking!!! More and more designers are including journaling cards in their “everyday” kits and that is the perfect way to stretch your buck and get the most for your money, by using pieces of kits that you might not usually use in your non-project life scrapping!

Here are just a few of the kits made by Kristin that include journaling cards that might work in your Project Like Scrapping:

  1. Tenderhearted
  2. Into The Woods
  3. Such A Crab
  4. Falling For You
  5. All Hallows’ Eve
  6. T.G.I.F.
  7. On The Bright Side
  8. Once Upon A Christmas: Caroling
  9. Once Upon A Christmas: Crafting

And for being such a captivating audience I have a little freebie to share with you today!! One 4×6 and one 3×4 journaling card using Kristin’s Manic Monday Kit and Inked Edges Alpha!!!
